This fall we're launching two new initiatives under the Paper Covers Rock banner.

Reading Retreats — Small groups will read a Canadian novel aloud together over the course of a day or two, with breaks for movement, tea, and lunch, in some of the most beautiful spaces on the island.

Writing Retreats — Week-long writing residencies that conclude with a community reading, event, or workshop. Applications for winter 2026 and spring 2027 writer-in-residence will open this summer.

We're also building the Repository of Arresting Sentences — a growing collection of excellently crafted, memorable, or astute turns of phrase. Submit yours here.
