Paper Covers Rock: Away

Join us for a 6-day creative retreat in Italy this November, where you will dedicate time to work on a personal project among a supportive group of peers at a private villa in the Italian countryside.

The retreat will be facilitated by author and photographer DL Acken, author and olive oil sommelier Emily Lycopolus, and writer and event producer Terri Potratz.

Your project may relate to writing, painting, photography, marketing, coaching, or another creative practice. And rather than pay to bring in a big-name workshop leader, this will be a co-operative retreat, meaning we will learn from one another.

Each attendee will lead one short workshop for the rest of the group during the retreat, facilitating cross-pollination between various creative practices. You do not necessarily have to be an expert in your field, but you must have the experience and confidence to lead a 30-60 minute workshop for your peers. Expect 10-14 attendees total.

As a co-operative retreat, our aim is to organize this event at a minimal cost. The attendance fee is expected to be $1500 CAD and will cover event coordination, 5 nights’ accommodation, and most meals. Attendees will be responsible for arranging their own travel to Italy.

This is a call to creatives to pre-register your interest now and let us know what you hope to accomplish at the retreat (if you know), and what you might offer as a workshop topic.
