Lee Henderson
Author

In this workshop we will examine how to begin (where to begin?), how to develop (and what to develop!), and eventually, how to refine a work of narrative storytelling for publication. We'll discuss character, plot development, and the prominence of the image in nonfiction, fiction, and comics; then we'll do some writing and drawing prompts as we launch into a lively discussion about the unpredictable intuition and unforeseen pathways of the creative process. No previous writing or drawing experience is required for this workshop.

Lee Henderson has published three books with Penguin Canada — the story collection The Broken Record Technique, the novel The Man Game, which won the BC Book Prize and the Vancouver Book Prize in 2009, and the novel The Road Narrows As You Go. Lee is an Associate Professor in creative writing at UVic and is the cover editor for The Malahat Review literary journal.
